Well these guys are from a varying number of mediums.. Originally Anne Rice wrote a very popular book called 'Interview with the Vampire' which was later turned into a movie with Brad Pitt n Tom Cruise.
Since then Anne Rice has extended the series (i think there are like 12 books now..? many for sure lol) and a second movie was made based on the 3rd book 'Queen of the Damned'. But its awful... completely ruins the story.

Yeh I dunno why Louis chose rats. Why not go after the sort of animal game that might actually appease him...? Like a deer or something.
Ah well, Lestat proves on many occasion that Louis is definately not the stupid one, despite his choice in food lol.
