Tintin - Plotholes of Injustice by Eeba-ism Tintin - Plotholes of Injustice by Eeba-ism
What have I done...? I don't.. even...

... Yeah. Because this isn't ridiculous at all :D

(this won't make a whole bunch of sense unless you've read the comics, sorry ^^; ... It's also technically a lie, because the "opium smuggling" plotline is never explored in the film -- however, they do show those crab tins rolling around the docks at the end (not to mention Allan sneaking away), so... I guess in the movieverse the "golden claws" opium ring is still in business xD)

p.s. this was so much fun to draw. I haven't felt this free whilst drawing in literally forever. I've always found it easier to draw other people's characters as opposed to my own... There's FAR less self-induced pressure involved xD

p.p.s. Nestoooooooorrrrrrrrrrr <3

Hilarious, but I don't think this was really accurate as to Tintin and Haddock being a couple. They were just friends.

Tintin was a CHILDREN'S show that was aired during the 90's that depicted gun fights, death, drugs and kidnapping. The movie was not a stretch

I know that, and before then it was a comic by Herge published from the late twenties up to 1979.  I'm simply stating that Nickelodeon (as an american based studio) wasn't able to depict as much of the original story line (vis a vis the drugs aspect) as the series by Eclipse (a French studio) and Nelvana ( a Canadian studio). And when the show from the nineties DID air in the US it was on HBO, a premium channel with different censorship concerns than public cable.  And that doesn't mean that the 90's "adventures of TinTin" didn't have stuff removed from the shows.  A studio operating mainly outside the US censorship would have been able to make a show like that and also it was the nineties, and let's be honestly we got away with a lot of shit in those years.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the movie and can't WAIT for the sequel. But you can only so so much with US censorship.

Although in all fairness this was a 'family' film and when this was written they could get away with stuff like that.

But Yeah I wish they could have explored that

Actually, if I remember correct, at the beginning of the movie there's a newspaper clipping in Tintin's apartment that shows he's already cracked the golden claw ring. I'm either the millionth person to say this, or the first, considering the audience.

:iconeeba-ism:
Eeba-ism Featured By Owner Jun 28, 2012
That may be (I can't recall), but if he had cracked that case... Allan wouldn't have been on board the Karaboudjan, and nor would those crab tins xD

Maybe Speilberg just wanted to have a little cake and eat it, too -- either way, congratulations, you're the first to mention it. I hope what you're inferring there about the Tintin audience is neutral and/or pleasant, but.
